Gulliver developed a hacking cough and runny nose about a week and a half ago, so we've been laying low. It never really affected him too much... he still slept well, ate tons, and maintained a good mood. But nevertheless, we skipped all of our activities last week to rest. Sleeping late, snuggling on the couch, watching TV, painting, playing cars, reading, and doing the other regular stuff around the house.
We finally ventured outside this week, taking walks around the block and playing in the driveway.
And today, we went to Tumblebugs after a few week hiatus. I think Gulliver missed this activity. He has so much fun running around and playing with the different toys. It's a nice way to spend Thursday morning, and he seems to love burning off a lot of energy (oh, wait... it's ME who loves that!).
When we got home, we found a package from GaGa... goodies from her recent trip to Florida to see Aunt Joan. Yea for Ron Jon's!

Weekend Guests
We had some visitors for the MLK holiday weekend… Lacye (Mark's niece), Jacob (Lacye's husband), Jared (Jacob's brother), and Justin (Jared's son) came in from the Dallas area. As usual, Gulliver really enjoyed having guests. So much attention!
Mark skied on Saturday and I got to go out on Sunday. No fresh snow at that point, but we got almost a foot of snow on Monday. So that's excellent!
Here are a few pics from the weekend…

Jan 12, 2012
12/26/2011: This is starting to feel like the winter that didn't snow. Mom, Dad, and Gulliver went to the playground today and tried out Gulliver's new Strider bike. While he didn't warm up to it right away, I really never expected to put it to use until the spring anyway. Hard to believe we spent the day after Christmas at the park. Last year at this time, we would have been postholing up to our thighs if we had tried to get to the playground.
1/2/2012: Dad had enough of the crooked haircut mom gave Gulliver before Christmas, so he took matters into his own hands. This is what it looks like when you use setting #2 on the clippers. Basically, bald.
1/3/2012: Gulliver usually isn't too concerned about what he wears. But sometimes he insists on selecting his entire outfit. This was one of those days. Not too bad, but a little clashing going on. He likes to help out… emptying the dishwasher, turning on the stove, cleaning out the drawers, and swiffering the floors. What a good little boy!
1/4/2012: Still no new snow. Instead of coming inside with snowflakes on her back, Cocoa brought in some dead flowers.
1/7/2012: Finally got a little bit of snow overnight. Gulliver enjoyed fresh tracks in the driveway. We also had fun this week cruising through town in search of fresh snow. He just marches right through it and giggles.
Mom and Gulliver still have a pretty good time hanging together during the week. Most days he is a dream. Some days he is a terror. I prefer the dream, but guess the terror goes with being two.
1/8/2012: Trains, trucks, cars, planes, helicopters and just about anything that "goes" still rank high on Gulliver's list of favorite things to do.
1/12/2012: And here's my little man just a few hours ago. Happy, handsome fellow.
